About Cascade Design

I started Cascade Design by accident. My friend Jon asked if I was taking clients. “For what?” I wondered. I had helped him with his website, graphic design, and business development. “Web design,” he replied. Until that moment, I had never considered myself a web designer. I’m an educator by trade. But I realized it was a natural fit that brought my skills and interests together - good design, systems-thinking, user experience, clear communication, tech, and, most importantly, helping people succeed.

I’ve used all of these skills for over two decades in the classroom. Now, I’m using them to help businesses and nonprofits bring their essential services to their clients. Though different from education, I see the roles as overlapping. Like my students, many of my clients are bursting with talent and ideas and I am lucky to play a role in helping them realize their vision.
